Emirates First Class A380: Dubai to London Review
We flew the iconic A380 First Suite from DXB to LHR. Here's whether it's worth your Skywards miles.
The Route & Cabin
Emirates operates the A380 on select DXB–LHR rotations, and if you're in luck — or clever with your booking timing — you can score a First Class suite with spectacular seat and service. The cabin seats just 14 passengers across seven suites on the upper deck, giving each traveller a degree of privacy that full-service airlines rarely match.
Hard Product: The Suite
The suite itself is a masterclass in opulent functionality. Sliding doors, a fully flat 2.07m bed, individual mini-bar and a vanity mirror that rivals many hotel rooms. The 23-inch screen is showing its age slightly, but the overall physical product remains among the best in the sky.
“Emirates First is one of only a handful of global products where the points value genuinely exceeds the cash equivalent. At 130,000 miles round-trip, you're getting a USD $12,000+ experience.”
Soft Product: Food & Service
The F&B offering is ambitious: a dine on demand menu with 10+ courses available at any time. The mezze selection is exceptional, and the lobster thermidor was a highlight. Service was warm and personalised — our flight attendant remembered preferences from the outbound segment.
The Onboard Bar
The iconic A380 bar remains one of commercial aviation's great social experiences. Open throughout the flight, well-stocked with premium spirits and cocktails, and a genuinely fun place to meet fellow travellers. A genuine differentiator for Emirates.
Emirates First Class on the A380 earns its reputation. For UAE residents able to leverage Skywards miles through the right credit cards, this is one of the best premium cabin redemptions available. Highly recommended.
