Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 2026
The short version: Some links on The Global Resident are affiliate or referral links. If you click them and make a purchase or application, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you.
Full Disclosure
The Global Resident participates in affiliate programmes operated by financial institutions, airlines, hotels, booking platforms, and technology companies. These programmes allow us to earn a commission when readers click our links and complete qualifying actions (such as applying for a credit card, booking a hotel, or making a purchase).
What this means for you:
- The price you pay is never higher because of an affiliate link. In most cases it is identical to the price you would find on the merchant's own site.
- Our editorial rankings and recommendations are independent of affiliate relationships. We assess products on their merits — earn rates, fees, real-world value — not on commission rates.
- We disclose affiliate relationships on all pages where affiliate links appear, using the note: "The Global Resident earns a commission from some links on this page."
What we will always tell you:
- The annual fee of any card we recommend
- Any significant restrictions, eligibility requirements, or drawbacks
- When a non-affiliate alternative may be a better fit for your situation
- The current welcome bonus, which changes frequently (with a reminder to verify on the issuer's site before applying)
Affiliate networks we work with include (not exhaustive):
- Impact.com
- Optimise Media (UAE and HK)
- Partnerize
- Booking.com Affiliate Programme
- Rakuten Advertising
- Commission Junction (CJ)
- Direct bank and airline programmes
If you have questions about any specific affiliate relationship, contact us at hello@the-global-resident.com.
